Z/455

I start this Section with a real rarity. This is a boxed kit of the huge Doepke XK120 die-cast model, which is 17 inches long.

Estimate Price: (e£700-750)

The condition of the bodywork is fine as are the underpinnings. The all-important assembly instructions are enclosed. This includes a list of parts but, frustratingly, quantities are not listed. This lot will therefore be offered “as seen” with photos of all items present in the kit included here. Jaguar model collectors will know that the box itself is also a real rarity in its own right! Fine kit in Good box.

Z/456

JaguarSport XJR-15 Intercontinental Challenge paddock coat.

Sold Price: £400.00

I understand that these coats were produced exclusively for the Intercontinental Challenge competition, which was a one-model race series in 1991 for XJR-15 that ran in support of three Formula 1 races at Monaco, Silverstone and Spa. These coats were available only to car owners, drivers and the support teams. They were never offered to the public. Plus – Jaguar Sport press pack announcing the “Intercontinental Challenge”. Three press releases – one on the XJR-15, one on Jaguar Sport and one on the race series. Two photos. Fine and in the correct white Jaguar Sport folder. The coat and the pack are both Fine.

Z/457

An excellent “Milano” briefcase from the limited edition offered by Jaguar Deutschland in the 1990s.

Estimate Price: (e£400-500)

Created by Italian craftsmen who bonded no fewer than eight layers of walnut veneer together and the resultant block was formed into the two parts of the briefcase. The hand-crafted leather interior was then fitted. Mint. Unused.

Z/458

A genuine Lejeune Jaguar mascot.

Sold Price: £380.00

Produced by the Lejeune company in England, this bears the company’s distinctive touch mark on the underside of the base. Fresh and unmarked and would appear never to have been mounted on a car. Fine nr Mint.

Z/459

Desmo Jaguar mascot.

Estimate Price: (e£300-350)

These mascots first appeared between the two World Wars in Desmo’s range of animal mascots. Shown here with the flat base for radiator cap fitting. VG.

Z/460

Desmo Jaguar mascot.

These mascots first appeared between the two World Wars in Desmo’s range of animal mascots. This one lacks the mounting base and the estimate reflects this. VG.

Z/461

XK120 DHC model by Compulsion Gallery.

Estimate Price: (e£40-50)

9 inches long, so approx. 1:18 scale, and heavy in the hand. Compulsion Gallery are the principal creators of models with a solid resin base that has the basic shape of the car. This is then given a thick pewter coating that carries the finer details. Over the years, they have created quite a stable of Jaguar models and their XK8 models is at Lot 475 below. VG.

Z/462

“The car that is making motoring history”.

Sold Price: £300.00

Z/463

Tool kit in circular metal/wooden box as supplied with Mark 2 and S-type saloons.

Estimate Price: (e£350-400)

The box has been refurbished and the finish on the metal and the wood is superb – the best I have seen for quite some time. The tools include a full set of four open-ended spanners – three “Snail” brand and one “TW”. a “Gedore” adjustable and a combination screw-driver with two interchangeable blades. The tyre pressure gauge is stamped “Dunlop No 6”. The spark plug is a correct Champion UN 12Y, but lacks the cardboard sleeve. The grease gun is also correct, but lacking the instruction leaflet. The pliers have no markings and should have a clear “SSP” stamp at the top, around the centre pivot. Curiously, the box spanner has been chromed rather than blackened and the tommy bar has been buffed rather than blackened. Overall, the contents point to a late-1964/early-1965 kit. The errors are rectifiable and the missing items should be replaceable without too much trouble. Given these factors, the kit warrants a VG assessment, with clear potential for Fine. NB. I am grateful to concourse tools specialist Roger Payne for his advice in assessing this kit.
